Promoting Clinical Engineering

Scott has always been committed to raising the standard and promoting the value and importance of Clinical engineering. Training is where Scott’s skills really excel and he has organised and chaired IPEM scientific meetings and been an invited speaker at numerous national conferences.

I have known Scott for over 25 years. We first met when he joined the Clinical Engineering Special Interest Group of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) where his enthusiasm for the profession shone through. Following this we both sat on the Engineering Group Board and Council. Scott has always been committed to raising the standard and promoting the value and importance of Clinical engineering. When I approached him about writing chapters in a book I edited, he did not hesitate to agree. He has contributed to three books so far and written numerous articles in professional journals as well as peer reviewed academic papers.

Training is where Scott’s skills really excel and he has organised and chaired IPEM scientific meetings and been an invited speaker at numerous national conferences. Scott regularly delivers training at Eastwood Park Training where I had been an external examiner. He is able to deliver the underpinning knowledge in an engaging way and shares his wealth of experience to enhance practical session.
